Frank has extensive B2B experience in international sales, business development, product management and strategic marketing with a focus on satellite-communications-enabled broadband mobile networks. Currently he is a project manager at Voyager Space supporting NASA’s Communications Services Project (CSP) which has been organized to utilize commercial satellite communications services for a variety of space-based missions.
Previously he led maritime strategy and business planning at OneWeb and earlier worked at Inmarsat, Iridium and Kymeta after beginning his telecommunications career with Comsat Mobile Communications. After graduation from Kings Point, Frank sailed as a marine engineer on merchant vessels, managed R&D planning for government and commercial programs, and consulted to the US Navy Combat Systems Directorate. Frank is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.
As the Secretary to the Board of the Mobile Satellite Users Association, Frank August has wide-ranging responsibilities for Association affairs including the continuity of policies and practices, and accountability of directors and officers. Previously, Frank was elected and remained a member of the Board of the Association while employed by Inmarsat from 2005 to 2012.
